Solution: design focused on ease of use
Magento 2 is a modern digital commerce platform that we built a smart and conversion-oriented design against using a headless frontend.
In the design process, the use of micro-interactions was chosen to make the user experience even better. Micro-interactions are small animations that are visible when a certain action is performed by the webshop visitor. It helps the visitor visualize the actions. An example of a micro-interaction on the Sabé webshop is adding a product to the order list. When the visitor clicks on the icon to add the product, a small animation occurs where a box is filled. This visually represents that the action succeeded.
Besides the micro-interactions, the search function is also completely focused on the ease of use of the webshop visitor. Together with Sabé, we chose to design an extensive search function in which the categories are divided in such a way that the visitor can quickly find the right product. This is necessary because Sabé's assortment is very large and there are many products that are similar. For this reason, the search function is not just a textual search bar, but is also enhanced with images and icons. When the visitor searches on a particular word, relevant products appear in a search box about the size of half the page. At the top of these products are the categories into which they can be divided, this can be clicked on to specify the search and filter the products.
To optimize the search function and ensure that the visitor can quickly find a product, we optimized the search function with Elasticsearch. Elasticsearch is perfectly usable for large amounts of data.
